Baking bread to create an enterprise of Filipino taste at its finest is what Julie’s Bakeshop has in its ovens.
The first Julie’s Bakeshop stood in Mandaue City in January 1981. The woman behind the bakeshop chain, Julie Gandioco decided to put up the store to meet the growing demand for bread in her canteen in a rattan furtiture company.
Success proved to be handy for Julie’s Bakeshop that after only six months, the second store was opened in the province.
Then the pursuit to put the company in stronger footing started. In 1984, RJ Commodities was established as a central warehouse for Julie’s Bakeshop to ensure the steady supply of quality ingredients and bakery supplies for the business. Its main operations were initially put up in Visayas and Mindano.
Further in its successful timeline is the opening of a store in Iloilo, its first store outside Cebu, in 1988.
Julie’s Bakeshop has a vision to “be in every town and be the most sought-after Food Franchising Company maintaining leadership in the neighborhood bakeshop market.” This in a bid to address the growing demand for quality bread.
The increasing product demand in Luzon, particularly in Metro Manila opened the doors to the company’s warehouse in Manggahan, Pasig City in June 2001. Another branch was established in Davao City in 2002. In 2003, RJ Commodities was merged with Julie’s Franchise Corporation (JFC).
Julie’s Bakeshop now has over 500 branches and outlets nationwide and close to 180 franchisees – a testamant that the company indeed has molded breads that will bring entrepreneurial success.
“Julie’s Bakeshop offers freshly baked bread made from the finest ingredients. Julie’s products are produced in a clean environment, in full view of its customers. Its products are not only tasty but very much affordable,” the company said in an email to Magnegosyo.com.
Julie’s Bakeshop noted that they keep loyal clients and attract new patrons by maintaining the high standards of quality in both the products and service.
Julie’s Bakeshop now offers franchise opportunities to budding entrepreneurs who see light and flavor in the bread business network. The company noted that enterprise creation and employment opportunities were their motivation to officially go into franchising.

Julies management should clarify some accusations and negative feedback about their francising just like the comment of iemlda and omar if they want to maintain good relationship with the francisee the management should answers these all, otherwise, it will destroy the good name of julies bakeshop francise

Offhand, the consumer and franchisee complaints against Julie’s Bakeshop merit intervention. With grievances arising at this time and place, says a lot about Julie’s Bakeshop Management and management of their business. At this juncture, business gurus will advise you—”caveat emptor!”.
Management – because a franchisee complaint is a head office problem requiring some senior manager to offer solutions. It is also because a franchisee’s complaint is a microcosm of potential problems with implication for the company’s own outlet as well as other franchisees. Franchisees are stakeholders too, and partners, if market dominance is of strategic importance.
In this case, the inability to resolve the franchisees concern also relates to consumer concern being unresolved.
management – because a consumer complaint is a frontline problem requiring frontline solutions! How did they get away with “murder” all these years without having a process for resolving consumer issues? It’s not in the franchisee handbook and wasn’t taken up during the training either!
In summary, how franchisees are treated by the mother company, is how franchisees will also treat their customers–shabby!

Gus2 ko lang po ipaalam sa lahat ng namamahala ng JULIES BAKESHOP FRANCHISING… na hindi na maganda ang tingin ng mga tao sa julies bakeshop lalo na dito sa Kabihasnan branch, City of Parañaque, hindi mganda ang kanilang pamamalakad sa mga tauhan/empleyado nila. Lalo na yung tinanggal nilang ng walang pasabi at biglaan at hindi pa nila binayaran, at nagsuspinde sila ng kulang isang buwan, at pagkatapos nuon ay tinanggal din nila sa trabaho ng walang pasabi, WALNG SAPAT NA DAHILAN at walang SEPARATION PAY! halos ilang taon nagserbisyo sa julies ang ibang empleyado doon pero hndi nila pinahalagahan un, nagtiis sila kahit (PHP100/day) lang ang kanilang sahod, nang maregular sila, nagtaas sila ng 10 psos per day .. hndi po ba labag un sa LABOR yun(DoLe)??? at isa pa, yun sucat branch na nagsara bigla at wala rin pasabi, hindi rin nila binayaran ang ibang empleyado doon, at yun iba binayaran nga ngunit hindi iyon sapat para matapatan ang serbisyong ginawa nila sa loob ng ilang “taon” … sana po, AKSYONAN nyo yan… bago san pa to mapunta, sa lahat ng mga MEDIA, kung maglalagay man po kayo ng tao na mags-shoulder sa bakeshop, sana po ay hindi sya papanig sa kun ano ang sinasabi lang ng may ari, dpat alam nla kung ano ang tama at mali, maganda at pangit na pamamalakad sa bakeshop, yun lang po .. salamat …
