There shouldn't be a problem with your router's and modem. Anyone here know how to configure a router and make it synch'd with the modem? Coz I'm not seeing one who knows how to do it. Dont blame your providers about the modem and your routers. If its not their product how would they support it? And regarding the subscription that you have with your provider, you cannot get the exact speed on what you signed up for. It doesnt work that way, its the maximum speed but not the speed that you'll get.

If you're having problems with any router that you have which work with your modem even though you've tried anything and contacted someone to fix, just shoot me and email (I'll provide it to whoever would ask). Linksys tech here and I can guarantee that I can fix whatever problem you have unless proven that the router or modem is defective.

My PLDT DSL works ok with a d-link router, There are no complicated settings to do but input your password and username on the WAN settings. I just started using it today, March 17, 2010. I read a lot of horror stories using PLDT DSL, hopefully it won't happen to me.

That's why Bayantel IS the best... dsl with bayantel never has a problem, nothing complicated to confihure even if you have 10 computers at home sharing the router or wireless with 1 bayantel dsl connection, their customer service is also very helpful with a guarantee of less than 24 hrs service for any problem. it never fails.

I had the same problem with Globe until I changed the default IP address on my Linksys to 10.0.0.1 because the router that Globe setup in the residence was using the same private address as my router 192.168.1.1, so something had to change and they password protected the configuration on the Semen modem in the house. So in reality I was not getting true ADSL because I was not receiving a true dedicated circuit from Globe with my own IP address. I thoght that this was how it was supposed to work. I was living in Korea for 16 years and always received a dedicate Ip from the ISP with ADSL. So guess what folks, the companies here are doing false advertising and ripping people off ...

I am using Verizon's FiOS. It's basically FTTP (Fiber to the premises). I signed up for 20Mbps/20Mbps and its great!

I wish the Philippines would do something about the quality of the lines in there.

There are alot of factors affecting your actual speed such as quality of the copper wires used in the area, in the household, how far is the CO from the residence and so on. They may advertise 6Mbps but take these factors into consideration plus the overhead you will probably get somewhere around 3-4Mbps. Take note that the quality of the phone lines in the Philippines are not physically great. By the way, for everyone's information, the max speed you can get on an ADSL is 7Mbps.

People need to understand how DSL work, what are its advantage and disadvantages.

@jerzsky,

P.O.T.S. that's your problem. if you can drop fiber optic from your residence to the nearest exchange you will surely get 3Mbps.
